Accounting

  • Banking has its own menu section — add current, checking, savings, domiciliary, fixed-deposit, wallet or cash accounts, then log transactions on them directly or import a bank statement (a sample CSV is one click away) to bring in a batch at once. Export any account's statement as CSV or PDF.
  • The Banking overview shows Cash in hand vs Bank balance at a glance, with a 30-day trend chart. Use the eye icon to hide balances on screen, and activate/deactivate an account without deleting it.
  • When you log a transaction, pick a category — customer payment, expense, vendor advance/payment, sales return, employee reimbursement, interest/other income, owner's contribution/drawings, loan received/repayment, tax payment and more — most of which set the direction (money in/out) for you.
  • NGN accounts can auto-post Nigerian bank charges: the ₦4 SMS-alert fee and the ₦50 EMTL stamp duty on debit transfers of ₦10,000+ — each is a per-account toggle.
  • Use Reconciliation periodically to match your bank account against your statement and confirm they agree.
  • Bank accounts, transactions and transfers are also available through the Developer API (Admin console → Developer API) for your own integrations.
  • Your Chart of accounts is seeded automatically for every new business. Add accounts of your own if you need more detail, and check the trial balance any time.
  • Record anything that isn't a sale or a bill as a Manual journal — save as a draft, then post it when you're ready (posting can be reversed).
  • Recurring journals, Budgets and Currency adjustments (for revaluing foreign-currency balances) live in the same area.
  • Turn on auto GL posting in your business settings and every invoice and payment posts to the ledger automatically — no manual journals needed for day-to-day sales.
  • The Audit trail records every create/update/delete across the system, and Period lock stops anyone backdating entries into a closed accounting period.
  • Moving onto Cashflow partway through the year? Use Opening balances (Admin console → Accounting) to set every account's starting balance in one guided screen instead of hand-writing journals.
  • At year end, run Close financial year (Admin console → Accounting) — it posts a closing journal that zeroes your income and expense accounts into retained earnings and locks the period automatically.
